Ruth is a Personal Trainer and Exercise Referral Specialist who changes her clients lives by transforming them from the inside out. Ruth founded Inside Out Personal Training in 2017 after realising that she was at her happiest when she was in the fresh air running or cycling. Qualifying as a Personal Trainer saw her leave the corporate rat race and she has never looked back.
When did you first get into fitness?
I have always loved sport, particularly running and cycling. Like many people, my life has had its ups and downs, and I realised that exercise and sport actually did as much for my overall wellbeing as it did for my fitness. As soon as I realised that I was hooked.
Honestly, everyone is different so I design each PT session to specifically meet an individual’s personal goals. Typically, a session would focus on physical performance and optimising nutrition. Physical training focuses on strength and endurance. Nutrition optimisation gets a little deeper and helps my clients understand the importance of food choices and getting the balance right.
I truly believe focusing on both elements is essential if you’re looking to impact your mental health and overall wellbeing.
I get a lot of joy from working out, cycling and running. I also get a massive buzz from competing in triathlons and riding my horse. But nothing beats taking my dogs for a run in the woods.
That’s a tricky one. I hope they would say I was motivating and inspiring, but also down to earth. Sessions should be fun and not a chore
